I love this quote. It reminds me to pay attention to where I put my energy, and whether that care is appreciated.
Where I want to put my energy
My time, attention and emotional energy are limited. I want to give them to people who recognise the effort and care I bring, and who are willing to meet me with care of their own.
I can be kind while choosing how much of myself to give. I do not need to keep exhausting my energy trying to earn appreciation.
