FIRE Number & Timeline
Estimate your financial independence target and time to reach it.

How this works & assumptions
FIRE target = annual spending not covered by reliable income divided by withdrawal rate. Count only income already available and expected to continue, not a pension starting later. Contributions happen at month-end and rise with inflation. The timeline uses constant returns and is capped at 100 years. A withdrawal rate is a planning assumption, not a guarantee that a portfolio will last.
Monthly real return = ((1 + (annual return − fees) / 100) / (1 + inflation / 100))^(1/12) − 1. Results show purchasing power today, not future nominal balances. Try lower returns, higher inflation and a longer horizon to compare scenarios.
